More Progress on Toilet – Almost Finished

Our beloved donors and sponsors, we are quite pleased to further report that the fixing of an inside toilet for the kids and the staff at our school in Buchanan, Future Leaders Academy, has advanced significantly and satisfactorily. We can now safely say that it is almost finished, except for a few finishing torches whose costs we forgot to include in the original estimate.

It’s worth mentioning that all major pipes have been installed in their appropriate places and positions. Also, the bio-digester septic tank has been fixed, with the necessary chemicals placed in it and sealed. The bio-digester septic tank is a new kind of technology relating to septic tank fixing, where a smaller tank is fixed with some special kinds of chemicals to prevent the tank from getting filled quickly and from polluting the environment with terrible odor.

Most importantly, the two commodes have been installed, and they were tested to see if they would flush, and each did flush easily and satisfactorily.

Once, again, our sincere gratitude to all the individuals and institutions that donated funds for the toilet project. We remain extremely grateful to you all.

Note: One major problem we have just realized is that we forgot to include in the estimate is some finishing-torch costs. For example, we forget to include the purchase and installation of a doors, as well as locks, to the two-room toilet, as they cannot be left opened while people use us. This is a dilemma we are facing right now! Besides the doors and locks, we also need to paint the interior of the toilet. And the total cost is estimated at $97, which we need to raise to complete the project.

School Toilet Fixing Making Progress

Once, again, we wish to report that the fixing of the inside toilet for our school in Buchanan City, Future Leaders Academy, is making tremendous progress.

Working on the tank

The administration of the school is glad and proud that the school will soon have a better toilet for the students and the staff, as well as parents and others who may visit the school. We are super happy!

So far, the necessary cuts and chiseling have been done in the building, several pipes have been appropriately installed, the bio-digester septic tank has been dug beside the school building, the appropriate fittings for the bio-digester have been fixed, blocks have been laid for the septic tank, and so forth.

Indeed, great progress is being made on the fixing of the school toilet, and we are super happy about it!

Once, again, our heart-felt thanks and appreciation to all those individuals and institutions whose good-will contributions or donations have made this possible.

Toilet Fixing in Progress

We are pleased to report that the fixing of an inside toilet for our school in Buchanan, Future Leaders Academy, has already commenced.

As indicated some time ago, it will be a flush toilet with two separate commodes in a partitioned space, one for males and the other for females.

The engineer, along with his team, has begun cutting sections in walls and on the floor for the installation or running of pipes.

We promise to provide progressive periodic updates on the works in various articles.

The photos show the workers chiseling floors and walls for the installation of pipes and commodes, as well as the initial installation of pipes. Another article will come in two or three days’ time to show additional progress.

Our school, Future Leaders Academy, remains grateful to all those who contributed to this project.

Our School has a New Name: Future Leaders Academy

The Board of Directors of the school in Buchanan, as indicated in a previous article, has introduced some changes in the operation of the school.

The new changes affect the name, the motto, the logo, and the uniform. The name is no longer Help Liberia Foundation Community School. It has been changed to Future Leaders Academy (FULA, for short).

The motto has also been changed from “Little is much to the needy” to “Building Liberia’s future today.”

In addition, the logo of the school has also been redesigned, showing three smiling kids reading from a book on a table.

Besides, the uniform has been changed to a new color and a shade of uniform. When classes commence, and the students start wearing the new uniform, there will be a separate article dedicated to that.

It’s important to inform you, also, that the school buildings are still being painted, and there will be more drawings and designs placed on them by the printer.

At this juncture, we wish to indicate that we are profoundly grateful to all those who have helped us and continue to help to make the school operational. It is their selfless donations that are helping the school to remain functional.

We are pleased to introduce, and welcome you to, Future Leaders Academy (FULA) where we are building the future of Liberia today!

We will be changing the school’s name on our website, Facebook page etc., but this work will take some time to complete.
