HLF School Meets with Parents

On last Sunday, February 8, 2026, the first Patent-Teacher Association (P-T A) meeting of 2026 was held at the school, with parents, teachers, and the Board in attendance.

DEO Alexander B. Toe posing with parents and school authorities

The main purposes of the meeting were to:

  1. Clarify some issues concerning the change of decisions, which resulted to going back to the school’s old name;
  2. Reduce the school fees to go back to the poor-children-school status;
  3. Talk about how to encourage other parents to bring their children back;
  4. Hear from the parents about happenings in the school; and
  5. Distribute academic progress reports of the students.

After spending some time discussing issues and clarifying things, the parents thanked the school for making the decision to go back to being the school that is noted for helping poor children to go to school. They promised to talk with other parents to send their kids back where possible.

Besides the parents’ presence, a senior representative of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Alexander B. Toe, who also happens to the District Education Officer (DEO) of Grand Bassa County, was in attendance. DEO Toe thanked the school for helping the government to educate the children of Liberia, and he urged the parents to talk to their friends to send their children to HLF Community School.

The DEO of the county also promised the school and the parents that he will submit the school’s name to the Ministry of Education as one of the affected community schools in the county so that the government can help it with some school supplies.

The P-T.A meeting was held under a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Thanks to all those who attended. A special thank you to the DEO of Grand Bassa County, Mr. Alexander B. Toe.

Thanks, also, to all those who continue to help us to keep the school running and helping the children get some form of education.
