On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, our school in Buchanan, Help Liberia Foundation Community School, purchased some rice and carried out its distribution on the campus.

It was a day of positive surprise and joy for the kids and the others who benefited, as they were not given any prior information about the distribution. The kids especially were excited when the rice arrived, and they were told that it was for them. A total of seven bags of rice was purchased.

The purchase of the rice was made possible through a cash donation from Sissel Martinsen and her friends in Norway.

The children went home excited and joyful on that day, as they left with their plastic bags full of rice. It was really a positive initiative, especially considering the difficult economic condition generally experienced by parents.

We are grateful to Sissel and her friends who provided the funds that made it possible for us to have purchased and distributed the rice. Thank you, Sissel! And please extend our gratitude to your friends who contributed.

About two weeks ago, we posted Part I of a pictorial of kids and teachers at Help Liberia Foundation Community School. Today, we are posting Part 2, showing the kids and the teachers in various settings or activities.

Thanks to you all for helping us to educate these underprivileged kids.

In spite of the changes that dropped the student enrollment this academic year, the school is still operating, the students continue to learn, and the kids and the teachers continue to interact.
